Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan being a pace setting organization is imparting quality education to 12 Lakh plus students across the country. In a bid to empower students with modern technology as they are inspired to explore knowledge with the intervention of ICT in ever expanding fields of education/ office through e-classroom, e-office, use of tablets in classrooms. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is striving to make organization more efficient & effective to meet the future challenges. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is stepping forward with the following initiatives. Computer pupil ratio: As on date it is 1:17 with 74,860 computers in 2284 Computer Labs in 1164 Kendriya Vidyalayas. e-Classrooms Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has established a total no. of 12011 e-Classrooms across India during last five years. 5300 e-Classrooms are equipped with Apple i-Pad, Streaming Device and Multimedia Projectors and remaining e-Classrooms are equipped with Interactive Board, Interactive Pads, Multimedia Projectors, Visualizer and Desktop Computers. Digital Language Lab A total 276 no. of Language Labs have been established in 276 Kendriya Vidyalayas (One in each KV). Language lab is a platform for comprehensive and interactive digital content catering to the listening and speaking skills, put to use in a stimulating lab environment. It caters to four language skills: Listening, speaking, reading and writing e-Office e-Office has been implemented at KVS Hq under e-Governance project through NIC e-Office which is aimed at: Establishing a paperless environment in government offices. Transforming the existing manual, paper-driven processes into electronic workflow. Organization level common repository of user information for various services and applications. Enhance transparency. To promote Inter/Intra Government information sharing. Assure data security and data integrity. Unicode Complaint-support for local languages. Tablets : Project e-Prajna In the pilot phase, KVS has distributed 6447 Tablets preloaded with e-content for the Students and teachers of Class VIII in one KV each from all 25 Regions since year 2017. These students are presently studying in class X. Tablets pre-loaded with quality e-Content of relevant class enable students to learn fast, retain and express effectively and efficiently. When students use Tablets regularly for five years they develop belongingness, responsible outlook and take ownership of their learning that facilitate effective reinforcement and long term memory. Students by using Tablets become more active in learning by using interactive methods. Website The GIGW compliant websites of all units of KVS (KVS Hq, Regional offices, ZIETs, Kendriya Vidyalayas) hosted on centrally managed platform on NIC domain are being developed. KV-Shaala Darpan KV-Shaala Dapran is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India, aimed at leveraging Information & Communication Technology (ICT) for enhancing the academic delivery system in all the schools under Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. Laptop for officers The officers and Principals of Kendriya Vidyalayas have been issued Laptops for quick disposal of official work. Online admission In current session 2019-20, a total 7,95,121 no. of candidates were registered in Class I through online Admission portal. The Provisional select lists and wait list in all categories were generate through online shortlisting. It facilitated hassle-free Admission Process to all stakeholders. Online fee Fee collection of all students is being done through online mode since 2015-16. Online Transfer of Employees The transfer of KVS employees are being done through online cloud based software since the year 2016-17 Video Conferencing Video Conferencing solution among KVS (HQ) & Regional Offices, ZIETs has been established for faster communication to speed up decision making. Procurement through GeM/CPP Portal Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (HQ) is registered on Government e-Market (GeM) and CPP portal. Procurement is being done through online, efficient, transparent, GFR compliant platforms on aggregated demands from Vidyalayas. GIS based website and Mobile App The objective of the Project is as follows: To develop a GIS based application for Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan visualizing all its Vidyalayas and units using Bharatmaps GIS framework. Hon’ble Smt. Rina Ray, Secretary, SE&L, MHRD launched GIS based website & Mobile App of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan on 7th February, 2019 during Joint Principals’ Conference of KVS & NVS. This website & Mobile App hosted on NIC server and developed by NIC will facilitate works division KVS (Hq) to monitor KVS infrastructure buildings and construction work. It has the following features:- Developed Bharatmaps GIS framework. Will provide all infrastructure related information of the Vidyalayas under different phases of construction. Mobile application for works monitoring along with school building infrastructure details updation/ modification features. Capturing Geo-tagged images to verify actual status of construction work. Tally Accounting Software Tally Accounting Software is being used in Kendriya Vidyalayas and training has been given for this Tally Accounting Software to thousands of employees of KVS. Modernization of Science Labs To enhance the skills and potential of students, Modernization of existing Science labs (Junior Science Lab, Physics, Chemistry, Biology) is in process. A total no. of 774 Kendriya Vidyalayas as on date have been provided with Modern Science Labs equipments.
